Gracie Morton

Gracie Morton (born 1956)

She is one of the older guardians of the mythological but also present here and now Age of Dreams (Time of Creation). Grace comes from the Utopia region, approximately 250 km northeast of Alice Springs. She paints "The Story of the Wild Plum", which tells the story of the ceremony associated with the story. A very thin and multi-colored dot represents a bush plum in various stages of its growth. Clear lines represent the traces of women picking fruit, and the semicircles are associated with patterns painted on women's bodies during ceremonies.
