Patricia Jackson Napanangka

Patricia Napanangka Jackson is an artist from the Western Desert region. She is a Pintupi woman from a family of artists and the granddaughter of Walangkura Napanangka, a renowned artist from Papunya Tula. Patricia began her painting career by helping her grandmother, Walangkura, apply background dots to her paintings. Walangkura taught Patricia and her sisters how to paint their stories, traditionally layering patterns derived from sand painting, and painting with a charged brush to connect the dots. 

Patricia paints the traditional stories of her country in a modern and vibrant style, combining bold, linear patterns, circles, and intricate dot patterns. Her unique style is characterized by intense, saturated colors, often in a simplified, geometric style. The subject depicted is her homeland, Tjukula . Formy terenu, takie jak zagłębienia skalne, wychodnie skalne i Tali , i.e. dune hills, are recurring motifs in her work.
